I can't even imagine changing a clutch by the side of the road!

I think I'll fall somewhere between no spares and absolutely everything by gathering one or two smaller items. Headtorch, and coil I'll add to my list, maybe some spark plugs.
Along with recovery insurance  and  mobile phone a must.

Noting that your local shop used wires because that was what was available ... but the default recommendation is for a strap type clip as you've found.

See https://shop.omicron.uk.com/products/cv-boot-clip-strap or https://www.pieces-fulvia.com/soufflet-de-cardan-cote-roue-lancia-fulvia-tous-modeles.htm just as examples ... but these clamps are pretty universal and you should be able to pick up from lots of places (ebay for one - just search CV boot clamps) if you wanted to move away from wire.

If it helps I include below a relevant page from the Fulvia Technical Data manual. This specifically mentions the 'locating groove' on the inboard joint which is what it sounds like you found and used. :-)

I am sure it won't be necessary, but if the solution is not forthcoming or the spline connection is stuck ,the steering wheel can be centred next time the tracking is adjusted.

Thanks Colin - and yes you are right about CV boot clamps.

My local shop says they used wires because that was what was there, but that they do have some German CV boot clamps, with low profiles that will work. So we’re OK, and solved on this end.  Thanks for your help!

I adore my LHD Appia.    Sadly I can't afford a second one.  If I could I'd have this one like a shot and re-locate my LHD to my girlfriend's place in Switzerland.

Hi, I had to disconnect the yoke at the bottom of the steering column and on reconnecting, the steering wheel isn't centred when the wheels are pointing straight ahead - its about 7 degrees out. How this is happened I don't know. Anyway, looking at the Flaminia Parts Catalogue I can't see a retaining nut or spine - which I can see on the Pininfarina steering wheel diagram. Before I break something, does anyone know how I can take the steering wheel off to centre it?
Thanks in advance. Chris

Thanks both.  I would have replied sooner but the 403 error blocks me from this Forum.

Hello, since last posting the HF has received new front seats, and had some work done on its brakes.  The car has been to Ireland and back twice, and generally has been driven a lot in all weathers.    The car has been reliable and fun.  The paintwork and the engine are both tired, and the car really should come off the road for some major work at some point.

Looking for some parts for the HF and my Appia on a Dutch website led to this message -

Dear Sir Mr G.J.P.C

Brexit, eh?  Sunlit uplands!  No downsides!   I find that German sellers will export to the UK, but Italian and Dutch sellers aren't keen to do so.
