Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself.  I'm an American living in Spain, and just bought my first Delta - a 1992 HF Turbo.  Hasn't even arrived at my home yet, but I'll post photos when it does.  It's mostly stock, I bought it from the original owner, and it has covered about 80,000 miles since new.  Seems in very good nick, no rust, no major leaks, and the engine makes proper boost and power with no smoke or noises.  I'm hoping for the best.

I just joined the club, and get to the UK quite a bit, so I hope to participate in some of the events and shake some hands.  Being new to Deltas, I should probably apologize in advance for some of the basic questions I might ask.  To wit:

1)  What are the primary part sources for Delta HF Turbos online?  When I search, I tend to get Integrale Specialists, and although I'm sure some of the things cross over, I suspect most of what they focus on won't apply to my little 1.6.  I don't intend to modify the car too much (if at all), but are there good only sources for things like ignition wires, filters, gaskets, etc?  I try to do most of my own maintenance, and I can even get into some more challenging repairs if I am in the mood, but it's nice to have some "go to" parts sources.

2)  I've owned about fifty classic cars in my life, and they all seem to have their own favorites when it comes to things like spark plugs.  Do you guys have any recommendations on brands for tune up and maintenance parts that you have found to work well in the Delta, or (maybe more importantly) brands you have found DON'T work well?

3)  If any of you get to Spain, definitely drop me a line.  I love meeting Lancisti and there is always cold beer waiting here in Javea.  I'm about an hour south of Valencia on the Mediterranean coast.

not being a delta expert but I do maintain a GTie in south of France, and have fettled a Prisma Symbol, I found tanc Barratt a great help.

I use Tanc and also AECAR - here's the HF Turbo link - https://www.aecar.co.uk/pages/catalogue-lancia-delta-1600-1600-hf-turbo

I've picked all the parts I want put them in an email and sent them off while on the phone so we can check it out and agree the price. They've always been fine.

There are no where near as many HF Turbos* as integrales so you won't find any specialist for them but most integrale specialists will be fine and as you can see, AE Car has a separate section for your model.

They're all pretty helpful as I guess we're a fairly small market so they get to remember customers Smiley

Yes, I have to say, this is the first time I have driven a Delta, and I'm very impressed!  First gear is long, but once you're rolling it pulls like crazy, and although in corners you can easily overpower the front tires with the throttle and make it push, if you pay attention and keep it neutral it corners beautifully and is a very involving car to drive.  It really covers ground if you're in a hurry, that's for sure.

But best of all, I'm incredibly impressed with the build quality.  The last Lancia I drove was a Series II Fulvia, and I was similarly impressed with the quality of that car, but I sort of assumed, coming from the much later Fiat generation as it has, that the Delta would be flimsier.  Not at all.  The doors shut with a very solid thunk, all the switchgear feels tough and quality (with maybe the exception of the turn signal stalk) and it all seems every bit as well built as something like a GTI or an e30 BMW.  Better in some ways.

Viva Lancia!  I'm hooked.

I bought it from the original owner, and he said they were original, but an "option."  I don't know if that means they were factory optional, of if his dealer offered to swap them on for him or something, but they are listed on the "fiche tecnica" from new, so I'm pretty sure he's telling the truth.

Thanks for the kind words.  I love the look, but I have to say, I love the clean lines of the earlier headlights and bonnet, too.  This is racier, maybe, but yours is maybe more true to Giugiaro's vision, and that's very rarely a bad thing.  Hahaha!  My car turns a lot of heads, but I suspect most of them are turned because they think, at least for a second, it's an Integrale.  So maybe it's a bit of a poseur.  But regardless, it helps get traffic out of my way in the overtaking lane...  Smiley

My understanding is that all the late HF Turbos got the lights and the bonnet.  But these wheels appear to have been an option, dealer-installed or otherwise.

I've never see this on an HF Turbo in the UK - maybe we never got this late edition ?

Looking at the pictures on Wikipedia, the LX / GT bonnet looks like the 8v and this one (being domed ) is like the 16v
