In the style of Robin and the Dilambda.......................no, not mine !

but restoration project

Should someone be looking for something along these lines, they do not come much cheaper than this - nor do they appear very often in this condition. As the cost of restoring a Fanalone is basically no greater than any other coupe, but the final worth higher -the main things to check would be:

are all the Fanalone parts there - if not be prepared for big bills
is the bodyshell reasonable, by which I mean no rust in the seems and straight. It goes almost without saying that sills, arches, rear panel and subframe boxes would need replacing. And then a re-paint (it looks an non-original colour).

If it ticks those boxes then this could be a good buy (+ £1000 to get it back to the UK). The attractive thing about this is that you will likely get what you pay for - it looks honest. There are quite a few cars around in the £20k bracket advertised as original etc.. Original 40 year old cars usually have some secrets and I suspect - and a couple of times seen - that they require just as much money spent on them as this would. Paying a £10k preminum for a painted restoration project is not money spent wisely. Honest Fanalones in this state at this price do not come along very often.

I'm not surprised it has gone quite quickly - as long as the purchaser has confirmed that is it a "bona fide" Fanalone with all (or most) of the correct bits, and the shell is not too bad. Sort of where I started really, and probably the basis for a good restoration.
