That does seem to be the current price for a nice Aurelia Berlina but I suspect it won't last. Now is surely the time to grab one. Though it may be non standard the interior doesn't look out of place.

If it runs, drives and stops OK and the door shut gaps are OK then it looks like a good buy to me in spite of some non originality.

I asked the seller for the chassis number of this car, but he was unwilling to give it to me. However it is also listed for sale on ebay and when it was first listed there was a photo of the chassis plate (Although this photo has now been replaced)
So I can confirm that this car was registered as SXL 4 and has a long history of ownership within the LMC.

I went to view it when it was for sale through an advert in Viva Lancia back in November 2015. It had been off the road for quite some time, the last tax disc (remember those?) was from July 2002. It was reasonably solid, but had rust on the top of one front wing, under the windscreen on the N/S (also a hole) and along the windscreen gutters. The engine (not the original one for the car) would only run for a very short period when fuel was put down the carb. The tyres were ancient. The interior, particularly the back seat needed retriming.

I thought that it was a car that could be put back on the road with a brake overhaul, new tyres, and a thorough mechanical check over/service, and with luck there would not have been any major mechanical problems. (With lots of luck!). Although in the long term it did need a bare metal respray and interior retrim. I was looking for something better, so it was not for me.

It is a shame that the original number plate has been removed, although it is for sale with one of the main number plate dealers for £9795.

It would be unfair to comment on the current condition of the car based solely on the photos in the adverts, but I thought it would cost considerably more to properly restore this car than the difference in price from what it was on sale for in 2015 and the current asking price. (Even including the price of the number plate).

A couple of photos I took of the car in 2015 are below.

Thanks Ade. The number plate change threw me but I now realise that I know this car quite well. I first saw it in the 90's at Tanc Barratts after they had done quite a lot of work on the body and mechanics and it looked reasonably OK although I wasn't looking for a B12 then.
I happened to meet the then owner shortly afterwards and saw the car in his garage and some 15 years later I went to look at his B20 which was for sale. I was surprised to discover the B12 languishing outside under an ill fitting tarpaulin looking very sad exactly as Ade describes with a hole in the bodywork, trim damage etc.
I cant comment on the condition today as much will depend upon the quality of the recent bodywork repairs as well as the mechanical ones not to mention how well the bodywork repairs from the mid 90's have stood the test of time.
A careful inspection is recommended.

As it was local to me I went to see the car. If prospective purchasers want to contact me I can tell them some information about it before they make the journey. It has been retrimned (tan leather and cloth) has new michelin tyres and has been resprayed.

All very interesting, it just shows the importance and usefulness  of being interested in Lancias for most of your life versus 5 odd years! Thanks for feedback and information.

Not so much a restoration project, but more a resurrection!
