Hi

http://autumnclassic.co.uk/

At last night's Bristol group meeting , people were keen to attend the Autumn Classic again. Last year six local cars went ( Ben, Peter, Ian, Simon, Terry and Steve ) We had a nice shared picnic lunch with a trackside view ( which is not that amazing as all clubs at the event were near the track Smiley )

So, I'll download the booking form and let CC know how many spaces we'd like ( as an estimate to get the correct sized area ). If you'd like to join us then that would be great - it's a very enjoyable day out. Please either reply to this or email / message me.

Car space is free, adults are £15 and seniors are £10. Club tent is also free ( which is nice ). Period dress code is optional.

Payment deadline to give them the money is 8th September. I will try and sort things at our August meeting ( which will be 23rd ) for cash.

Update: People who've expressed an interest *with car SP* , SD*, BC*, PM*, TP*, CH*, IH*, MC*, BS*, RC*

Update2: People who've paid SD*, BC*,  TP*, IH*, RC*, CH*

Update3: Posted tickets CH, RC, MC

Expected cars:
Evo2
Evo1,
Nouva Delta x 2
Aprilia
Thema
Fulvia
Montecarlo

Last year ( we do go out in the wet ) !

Who can forget :

... and one from 2015 :

Hi All,

Castlecombe has confirmed they have the booking - I've asked for 10 spaces + gazebo space. We can confirm numbers and payment in early September but once the booking is confirmed then that will be it.

Steve

To add to your car list Steve, I will probably bring the Monte Carlo unless weather is really bad in which case it will be the Dedra Integrale.

This has now been confirmed and paid with Castle Combe Circuit. For those coming, I'll send out more information when I receive it and I'll post on here where our area is so anyone visiting can pop by and see us.

The tickets have arrived !

I've posted out three and will bring the others tonight to the Bristol meeting ....

They'll also be two Aurelias out on track for us to cheer on.

Hi

Castle Combe have just sent the map with our position on it - pretty much where we were last year next to the track at Avon Rise near to Quarry Corner. I've attached the PDF so everyone can find us.

A big THANK YOU to Steve Pilgrim for organising the LMC member attendance at the Castle Combe Autumn Classic today, it was great fun to spend the day seeing and nattering about some lovely cars and supporting our 2 fab racing Aurelias. (Will let Steve tell you about them in more detail as he was the only one with a programme!)
Also we had 8 of our cars on display in a good location, attracting a lot of interest. Viva Lancia!

Hi Tim
No flyers , but apart from eating we were wandering around a lot ! Next year though - and we'll be a bit more organised with the food ( I had left overs for the next few days )
I've attached some pictures of us , t he two Aurelias  in the FisCar race, a 1924 Lambda that was a Star Car ( but not a club car ), it had competed at Castle Combe and also at Brooklands and finally Nick Mason's 1970 Ferrari 512S ( which was burnt out in the film Le Mans and rescued eight years later  - for £6,000 ! )

It has to be said that standing ( literally at Combe ) next to F1 cars as they go past it about as noisy as it gets !

I'll be in the diary for next year for sure , glad you enjoyed it Smiley

Did anyone find out who owns the nice looking Lambda? He should join the club.

According to the program the owner is John Earle-Marsh.
His father raced the car at Castle Combe in March 1951 in a 10 lap handicap and pre-war at Brooklands,
He told me that his father bought the car when it was 10 years old which would be around 1934.
I believe the car is well known to Roland Grazebrook.

He doesn't appear to be a member of the Lambda World Register, either. He's in the VSCC list of members with an Alvis Silver Eagle. His Lambda looks very sporty with light weight wings. Would be nice to see it more often.
