John, have you tried it on a multi-car or multi-classic car policy?

Yes, but nobody wants to insure it. I was unable to add it to my modern (Yeti) policy or to the policy I have the Lambda and Augusta on. They all say that they don't insure such cars! I have owned many Left hand drive cars and imported quite a few, including Flaminias, one of which was worth a lot. I never had trouble getting insurance. Most of the brokers I asked found that the insurance companies didn't regard the Ypsilon as a "classic", as in most cases it wasn't old enough. Shame, as I was quite looking forward to driving it.

I phoned my current classic insurance company who told me it would qualify as a classic in N Ireland when over 15 yrs old ( would cost another £50 to add to my group policy) but in GB it has to be over 20! Explanations as to why the 5yr difference welcome!!

Assume the £1k quote was as your main vehicle?

Try Tim Sawyer at Hagerty: He knows everyone.

P Not at all. I made it clear that I have three other cars and that I just wanted to use it locally, for shopping, etc.

I see,  a full premium then, your NCB used on your main car.

Hope Peter's suggestion can help.
