Okay, most people on here that tinker will already have a set of tools but if you're starting out then can I recommend a Halfords Advanced toolkit - it's got a lifetime guarantee and is excellent quality.

Plus I've never seen this set for sale for such a low price - I suspect that someone has made a mistake somewhere!

Yes Guy, it would appear to be a mistake/bargain, because heres the same thing in chrome at over twice the price from Halfords, although its considerably cheaper elsewhere on "the bay".

Strangely the chrome 90 and 170-piece sets are also the same price as the 200-piece set youve linked (its in black, very cool, but youd probably loose them far easier!).
So, mistake, end-of-line? Who knows. Definitely daft pricing from Halfords, thats for sure. Take advantage, I say. Might even get one myself  Grin

It could be that black is a marketing mistake and they are having to dump them. Out of interest, how does "advanced" compare with their "professional" line?

Could be - but there are people out there paying £200 for a set. The toolkit is called Advanced Professional, no difference and full lifetime guarantee. I've got a full set plus a few duplicates and have only had to ask them to replace one piece so far. And they've seen some use/abuse!

Hi All

For those who want a cheap and reasonable 94 piece socket set @ £26 with some long reach sockets, extensions, allen and torn keys, then I have bought more than one of these and been very happy with them. They are Chinese and there are a number of vendors selling them, but guess they probably originate from the same place.
