This is the famous - to us LMCites - Eric Clapton (Scott) car.

Looks like it has gained rear wheel spats, something it has never had before.
For more history on this car see:- http://www.lancia.myzen.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=2967.15

There was an almost identical, but unrestored Astura 'Bocca' at the Chantilly concours at the beginning of September 2016.

Agreed, the 'Chantilly' car does have rear wheel spats, but I haven't seen the Clapton/Scott car with them on before.
Not all 'Boccas' had them originally, as per this period photo.

What a stunning car! When you consider what was available in Britain at the time.

It was just an observation. I rather prefer it without the spats and with just one wiper per side. The Clapton car looks rather cluttered with two on the drivers side.

Yes - those wheel discs are too beautiful to cover up.

The Pebble Beach winner 2016 now for sale:

http://hymanltd.com/vehicles/5867-1936-lancia-astura-tipo-bocca-cabriolet/

Interested parties have now (March 2017) 2 possibilities to buy a Tipo Bocca Astura. Either at an auction (RM at Amelia) or with a dealer (Hyman Ltd). Difficult choice ahead!
