Fuel gauge problem
«

It seems the float that rises and falls with fuel level in my Flavia tank is not rising. Is this possible?

Has the float come off the lever or has the air come out of it? Either would cause the gauge not to register the level changing?

It seems to be a piece of cork, looks a bit like a cycle pedal in miniature, anyway I have now taken it off, so have nothing working.

It is very easy, Peter. Drink a bottle of wine and use the cork as a float. I did this with the Aurelia, and it works perfectly. The float probably sits at the end of a piece of steel wire. Heat the wire so that the cork can be pushed on to it. Good luck.

Trust a Dane to come up with the prefect solution.

I'm thinking a champagne cork, after all the better the wine, the better the cork. BTW. Does the cork need to rotate on the spindle?

It shouldn't need to. All floats I have come across are solidly fixed to the arm. Any rotating is done by the arm at the sender end.

Have fitted two champagne corks and now working a treat, was going to fit three but all that champagne in one evening seemed a bit extravagant. At some point however, I would like to replace the float with the correct one, if sombody has one? Same as Fulvia.
