I have just purchased a Fulvia Sport in Germany & transported back to the UK. The next step is to get it through it's MOT then registered.

Whilst this car is definitely a 1600 Sport- Chassis Number (on both VIN plate & Body) is 818.750.001401, Engine number 818540*008227*, Flush fitting door handles, bumper over-riders, head rests, oil temp gauge, electric windows that distinguishes it from other Sports- the German Log Book (Fahrzeugbrief) although matching the engine cc and engine numbers etc as a 1600, shows the first registration date of 01.07.68 which is three years before 1600 Sport Production began. This date is incorrect.

I have history from 1985 when the car first went to Germany but nothing before, only the original window sticker which shows Lancia Concessionaire Alvaro Bondi, Via N Tommasso 49,Padova, Italy as the supplying dealer but when it was first registered I have no idea.

As the car is too old for a C of C I have corresponded with our Club Secretary Barbara Longlands and she is generously arranging someone with Fulvia knowledge to inspect the car, however in the meantime can anyone else possibly identify whether my car is a '71 or '72 manufactured vehicle it would be most appreciated.

Kind regards,

Paul

Paul

Production finished in 1971 on chassis 1287 so your car is 1972 which ceased at chassis no 1800 (800 built split between rhd and lhd but no one seems to know exactly what the split is but a crude estimate is 10% rhd).

Roddy should add your car to the Zagato register!

Good luck with registering. I doubt you will have a problem.

BTW did you know the front headlights can be made to conform to UK left hand dip by just twisting the bulb holder at the back (standard feature)!!

Thanks Tim for the year info,

Yes I am aware of the headlamp switch & I have already provided Roddy with my car details to place on the register.

Regards,

Paul.
