Could hardly believe my eyes when at the very start of the excellent BBC One programme, Rome's Invisible City, last evening the expert accompanying Alexander Armstrong, Dr Michael Scott, was introduced driving a
Flavia Vignale Convertible! And how perfectly he looked in it and it looked on the streets of Rome.
If you missed the programme do try and catch it on iPlayer it is absolutly fascinating. The infrastructure built by the Romans underneath the city over 2000 years ago is mind bogling. Coming as it did on the day that BBC News showed the truly amazing feat of engineering going on under the streets of London just now it causes you to stand in awe of the achievement all those years ago.
