Audrey Hepburn, a Vespa and an Aprilia in one photo .....

I don't remember the scene in the film, maybe a publicity picture ?

While the poster is definitely a publicity still, the same scene with the same car is in the movie, at 71 min 30 sec on my PAL DVD copy. As you can see the camera is front on, so different to the still.

Very rarely would any publicity shots be taken directly off a motion picture frame, at 24 fps a single frame is never sharp enough to blow up to any size.

Sorry about the quality of my photo, had to take it off the screen with a camera.

It might not have Audrey Hepburn in it, but this photo does have the Vespa and an Ardea! http://www.lancia.myzen.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=7942.0

Am I looking at the right car on the right of the photo? I would never have recognised that as an Aprilia. The headlights are low and at a glance I would have thought Alfa. Am I looking at the wrong car or is there an Aprilia I'm not familiar with?

It's a post war Pininfarina bodied model, most likely a Bilux.

I would generally say Alfa grilles are smaller but also the badge tends to protrude down from the top onto the grille mesh. Lancias have the badge above the grille itself on the grille surround.

This one was for sale in Italy a few years back, different front bumper but otherwise the same. Interesting it is on a 539 chassis so has a live rear axle. I have always imagined they'd be quite heavy and a bit of a slug.

Hi

Looking at that car, makes me think that Humber took many ideas for their Hawk of the 50s from this shape of car. Maybe same original designers?
