Alan Cooper spotted this on Facebook.
The registration Number is WXG 665 and was spotted on the M23,
I looked to see if it was a LMC Members car but it's not shown, not knowing when the photo was taken I decided to look it up on the DVLA site. and found it was first registered in the UK February 2015 so looks like an import with an age related plate.
does anyone know who it belongs to?
Looks lovely and I want one Roll Eyes

Like with the "Short Astura" I can't but think of the pun in "I've got an Ardea".  That in turn reminds me of the final scene of the Italian job on the cliff and I smile again.

Cute little thing for sure.

A gentleman called Antonio Fiorino e-mailed me this week enquiring about Brooklands AutoItalia day which he hopes to attend. He said he has an Ardea and has just joined the Club. I got the impression he hadn't used the Forum yet.

Yes, he's just e-mailed me. That is him in the picture, and he will be at Brooklands. Was hoping to go to Goodwood, but has decided that it's a bit too far until he gets used to the car.

Hi Antonio,
It will be great to see you at Brooklands, be even better if you change your mind and bring your lovely Ardea Smiley
Love to hear more about the history when you have the time.

we have been looking for an Ardea for the last 2 years, even if they are not so rare in Italy , they are difficult to find with good restorations and prices are sometimes not realistic.
found this one on ebay from a guy exporting from italy and the price was very low! got in touch with him and he told me he was selling a car that was unwanted in a dispute between brothers but he had no idea of the history of the car. probably has been just repainted in the 80`  but the car has been stored for long time so needed some works. we decided to bet for a low price and we got it. the guy was really honest and the car is sound but in need of attentions. she is a mark IV, from 1950, 5 gears+R (first production car with 5 gears), the interiors are originals, engine has been preserved, but i doubt the colour is the original. I will need to get in touch with Lancia Register to know more. we had her serviced and checked by specialist DTR sportcars in Coulsdon and they confirmed me the car is sound and did an MOT. they told me she need to be driven and that at some point she will need to be rewired cause she still has her original wiring and that the engine and gear supports need to be changed to increase comfort there are no breaks in the engine and seals are in good condition. the only thing that i am not happy with is that she has no "Frecce a Bacchetta" and I don`t know if they can be fitted again and the rear lights are from a giulietta because of the change in italian motorway code in 1952. for the rest i am driving around now and I am really really looking forward to join you. i really hope to come to Goodwood even if i am not taking her on circuit yet. I will try to drive more during Easter holidays.

Thanks Tonio,
Don't worry about taking her on the circuit at Goodwood, I never do as it's more about meeting friends for the first meeting of the year, besides which I enjoy watching others using their Lancia's, I'm more into touring with my Fulvia 2c.
Must admit I've always fancied an Ardea, have you ever seen the issue of 'The Marque' which compares the Y10 with the Ardea, prior to that, not having seen one I didn't realise they were so tiny

yes they are little and light, I think was a project to use as less metal as possible and reduce costs, the war was approaching and Italy was under blockade for the wars in Africa at the time of the project!
I really love the fulvia, they are beautiful!!
no have not see the press but i am using a lot the website www.lancia-ardea.it.

Just to confirm that Goodwood is a Club highlight with a great social gathering as well as access to drive on the Goodwood track for those who want to (paying a bit for the pleasure of course). However, this may be the last time the club has an exclusive Goodwood day due to the lack of members coming to use the track. The club always subsidised this with a view of the social side but every year the number of drivers declines and this year is finding it very difficult to persuade people onto the track. The writing is on the wall for this unless more people sign up. I could say enjoy it while it lasts but this is not the point......

Great news. Always nice to see older lancias on the track. However old, Lancias give a great drive to the pilot.
