Alutight Aluminium Welding

Came across this at the Sandown Park Model Exhibition yesterday and very impressive it was too. The guy demonstrated butt welds in thin sheet, cylinder head repair and thread repairs.

Jonathan had a go and was very impressed. A tad expensive but you can buy less than a meter and it goes a long way.

Robin.

Robin,
I watched this being demonstrated at Silverstone about 5 years ago, very impressive, at the time it was being handled by a German Company.

I think I bought some when Brian saw it at Silverstone.  Yes it does work, I tried it on a non-stressed part successfully. Not been brave enough to try it on an important component though - yet.
