I have posted this picture before, but could do with help please .....

The sign is in sound overall condition, but has been outside for a very long time and has faded badly. There is no option but to renovate it.

I have searched for photos of a similar sign from this period (1962 according to the label inside) but cannot find anything. The only thing that I have is a sew on patch from the early 70's

But how accurate is the design ? Most specifically the position of colours, bands etc. I can work most of it out from what's left but it is the circles outside the steering wheel that are perplexing me most !

Does anyone have a photo of a similar sign from this period ?

Thanks !

Is this not the same as this item sold on Ebay back in June...
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lancia-shield-illuminated-forecourt-sign-/331576437679?nma=true&si=1uj%252B9I2AsYzyajAGcK8kJYTmt7g%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Some good sellers photos that may help.

The treatment of the advance retard wheel on the right hand spoke is different so possibly a later example but it seems to be a good guide for the outer circles.

Do you ever use Google Chrome (as opposed to, say, Internet Explorer)?

Here's a tip:
Go to Google and do a search for 'lancia illuminated sign'. Now click on Images at the head of the page. This is how I found the ebay ad ... it was the first couple of images that came up.

Sure you could have just done that in Internet Explorer but here's the clever bit you can do in Google Chrome:
With one of your preferred images on the screen right click on it and with Chrome you'll have a 'Search Google for image' option. Click it!

This is the clever tech where Google will now go on to try and find similar images. I've just done this with one of the ebay images and there are some additional alternative images out there on the world wide web that might help you.

[If you don't have or don't want to have Google Chrome - a free download - let me know and I'll just post the URLs to those additional images directly here for you].

Woah ... I'm not suddenly Chrome tech support here!  Wink

I know you can get Google Chrome for Windows and Mac. I'm assuming that it has the same functions and features irrespective of operating system.  Huh?
