Finally after roughly 40 years my engine ran!

Not sure why (perhaps it's because it's hand built, balanced and I had the head skimmed?) the dyno results show 135bhp - significantly more than when new...

Very good! How much should one budget for a rebuild, 1K per cylinder?

Thanks everyone!

Yes I have a video which I'll share

Richard - budget will depend on the condition of the engine - if you need new liners for example they could set you back £1k and that's without the machining cost in fitting them.

Cheers
Dave

Just watched the Video... that sounds exceptionally smooth. I love the sound of a V6 at full chat.  Wink

I was very nervous - particularly as the revs rose to 5200 rpm

It's surprisingly scary - but the horsepower figures were a pleasant surprise as it's wasn't 'upgraded' in any way.

What a lovely sound. Should sound even better coming out of a normal exhaust.

Hi All,

Just dropped the engine back into the engine bay - but have hit an issue - the air filter is too tall

I've checked it against the original and its much taller.

I got it from Omnicron and bought another from Cavillitto - but neither are correct (omicron too high, Cav right height but 5mm too wide internally and externally)

Does anyone know where to get a suitable sized filter from??

Cheers

Mine is from E.F. Breen, Maidstone. Slightly too small internal diameter,so modified to suit.
