A good question at the end of the piece, ' would you buy a used car from an Italian politician?'  Not sure about that one!

A good question at the end of the piece, ' would you buy a used car from an Italian politician?'  Not sure about that one!

They're all on there now, but they are going for SERIOUS money (e.g. 08 Thesis for about 8K euros). And as has been said - would you want to buy a used car from an Italian politician? They are quite near me, assuming Turin (= 200 miles - if Rome a bit further!), but I am not tempted, because the prices seem insane.

Currently at 8055 Euros with 68 bids to date for a 2008 pre special order Executive (Basic Spec- Alcantara & 16" wheels) with 195,000km too. What's the attraction?

They can't have them all for sale, I just saw the BBC evening news, saw the Queen was in Rome and went to the Pope too, she left in a Lancia, unfortunately a rebadged Chrysler.

Is there a link to the site with all listed rather than a string ebay links?

Answer my own question....

http://www.carscoops.com/2014/04/italian-government-starts-selling-151.html

http://stores.ebay.it/Le-Auto-Blu-del-Governo/_i.html?rt=nc&LH_Auction=1&_sid=1234271674&_trksid=p4634.c0.m309

Breathtaking stats of the numbers of cars being used for government business!

As Paul and Alan have noted prices seem a bit high, but from the search below, they seem all over the place generally for the Thesis

Yes I agree!
Especially as my car is still sitting in Turin waiting for a new owner it has only 85,000kms and perfect, still no buyers except someone from the south of Italy who asked if I wanted to swap it for a boat!

Thought they would have got one of the trusty Quirinales out for the Queen.

There are nine of these ex Government Thesis on ebay.it that I can see, all the same colour & spec- met grey/blue 2.4JTDm Executives (Basic models). There are a couple of days left to bid and they currently sit between 6,650 Euros & 10,200 Euros. All have between 100,000km & 200,000km and are 2006/2007/2008 registered and have had plenty of bids.
Other non Government Thesis do not appear to attract this type of interest.
