Can anyone suggest a reason for the sudden failure of a revcounter on a 1.8? My reading of the electrical schematic shows the signal comes from the coil,so a spare fitted and no joy.Fitting a spare instrument panel had the same result.Any pointers?

Check out the instrument panel earth points as well as the main battery earth lead under the battery tray, Dedra's throw up all sorts of weird electrical faults if there's a bad earth, another thing they don't like is anything electrical being fitted that wasn't designed specifically for Dedra.

So I assume other models may also react in a similar manner.

Thanks for that Brian. What I have established is an a.c. voltage at the connector for the revcounter at the back of the instrument panel which changes as the revs change. All the other gauges and warning lights operate as normal which makes me suspect I don't have a general earthing problem but a specific earthing problem relative to the revcounter. My problem now is deciding where the earth for the revcounter is.Any advice?

Sorry I can't check as I've just sold my Delta HF Turbo Manual! but it's not normally very far from the cluster possibly near the door pillar.
