Yes , I think the carpet must attract petrolheads- its still in the former owners house and another mate of mines parents!

I have kept the mats for show- with the original wheels and Michelin ZX tyres.

In my efforts to confirm the link between my car and Richard "Dickie" Attwood's family, I dropped him a letter and few photographs.

Received the reply below- confirming what was felt to be the story, but also revealing that he ran the supplying dealer- what a gent.

Richard Attwood is such a nice man. I had the pleasure of his company all day at a Maserati circuit test day a few years ago and I have spoken to him many times since at Historic Race meetings and also occasionally at Porsche Club talks on Porsche 962s. His driving technique advice was invaluable and at the time his road car was a medium sized Peugot estate with approx. 300k miles on the clock I seem to remember.
