I like the 2015 header very much. Are the photos lifted from the original model launch brochures etc?

I thought it was the Ardea 75 in 2014??

Most references quote 1st Jan 1940 introduction of production. This was taken as the model anniversary date.

La Lancia states the start of Ardea production as 1939. The factory records that are on the Viva Lancia site show that 70 cars were made in 1939. http://www.viva-lancia.com/specials/cd/vin.php  (Click on the link to page 5 1938-1945)

Thanks Chris.
I can neither confirm nor deny if the car images were brazenly stolen from various websites and blogs  Roll Eyes

I would suspect the quality control would have been a bit iffy on the 1st January. Best buy one made later in the week  Grin

Apart from being pedantic on the Ardea introduction date, I do like the new banner.
Mark, is the photo change on the header done on a timed basis, and if so, what is the time between changes of the photo?

Well, I know it is a bit after the horse has bolted on this one but I did publish a listing of model anniversaries in December VL 2011 and while we shall keep the Ardea this year using the excuse that probably none made it to the UK in 1939 (I stand to be corrected....), I have a plea that could I be informed of any other model dates that don't seem correct (as I requested at the time....) - Thanks. I merely created the graphics. Steve Pilgrim does all the programming magic.

Ade (et al) , the photo changes on the hour and cycles through the eight models three times during day. Hopefully this means we all get to see them , whatever the timezone. The photos are numbered 01 - 08 and then it's the modulus ( 24 hour / 8  ) + 1 thus giving us the file for the hour ...

Hi Steve

Best not take the Ardea out then or that would bugger up the calculation somewhat.......

On a less frivolous note, I too think the banner is great and particularly like the rotating images.

There is a solution to the 'Ardea problem'
In 1940 Lancia started production of the Ardea 550 Furgoncino. Only 9 were built before WWII.
After the war production began again as the 2nd series Ardea Furgoncino, also called the 650.
Easy, just change the Ardea title in the header to 'Ardea 550' and the picture to one of an Ardea Van.

Again Trailblazing has the Furgoncino as introduced 1941 but the Tassi Roma Tipo 450 introduced in 1940...... My preference would be to leave this as is.....
