Like the new header - does it suggest anniversaries for the featured cars ?

Hi Simon,

I does indeed ! Credit goes to "Marky" Mark Lima and I've also used it on the database and library headers too this year! Glad you like it and if anyone is feeling artistic then we're also happy to feature someone's work and swap them around ...

... while I think of it, the old banners don't get overwritten (new ones have a new name) so the old ones are all there somewhere (heading for the library at some point!)

I cannot take all the credit... Tim sowed the seed, identifying as he did the 10, 20, 30, 40 sequence and Steve is always on hand to maintain the forum and make it happen.

The fun bit is always left for me... creating a banner or two in Photoshop.  But I agree, out of 1,000 members there must be others with a nack for graphic work who can offer a refresh now and again.  For those of you who remember Tony Hart from the 70s/ 80s children's TV art show, "...now it's time for The gallery"  Grin

Please excuse my ignorance, I know what an Ardea is but what's an Ardea 250? And 30 years since the S4 Delta? I'm really getting old if it is! I remember standing in the forest watching their debut on the Lombard back in 1985 I guess. Oh crap....

I'm the first to admit that I'm not the best at technical Lancia knowledge so I don't question info given to me by my learned colleagues; I simply beautify the given brief. I'll leave it to someone else to answer the '250' question.

On the other note I went to the Birmingham NEC International Motor Show as a young teenager and saw the Jaguar XJ220 Concept Car. The second time I saw the XJ220 was again at the NEC but at the Classic Car Show! Goodness, time flies!!!

250 refers to the Tipo number of the 1st Series Ardea (so say La Lancia edition 3) Smiley

& pretty much same experience with the XJ220 - except that I did once see one on a trailer near Cirencester in the mid nineties

Tim,  2014 was Dilambda 85 it having been exhibited at the Paris Motor Show of that year. Elaine Moore's Dilambda was delivered to the Maharajah of Mysore in 1929.

250 is the Tipo number for all the Ardea saloons; the "chassis" were given the code 350, the Tassi Roma was 450, the Furgoncinos were 550, and the Camioncinos were 650.

Covered in embarrassment! I'd assumed that this was a new thread started in 2015 when of course it was January 2014. Humble apologies Tim for casting unjustified aspersions. I'll get me coat and go and sit on the naughty running board!
