I am organising an event for the West Midlands branch of AROC, but have been given permission to invite local LMC members also.  In broad terms, we will meet at Budgens, the Shrewsbury Alfa dealer, at about 9.30 for breakfast (bacon and egg butties being laid on by the garage), departing by about 10.30 for a road tour (sections of which are likely to be familiar to regulars of the LMC Giro...), this one with a series of questions for a light hearted competition.  We'll gather somewhere inexpensive for lunch and depart for home early afternoon.  It'll all be free, with the exception of lunch, which you will need to buy for yourselves...

I'd like to be able to have an idea of numbers by next weekend, so if you are interested in taking part, or want to find out more, contact me either on press (at) lanciamc.co.uk or 07899 951760.

Some further information about the Giro di Shropshire event on the 26th September.  We've been offered FREE entry to Loton Park hillclimb course, a few miles outside Shrewsbury, for all of us on the day.  Loton is a fantastic course, set in landscaped grounds.  I've been there on a number of occasions and love the place.  So I propose we start at Budgens, take a scenic drive, and end up at Loton.  Catering at Loton is limited to the burger and chips end of the spectrum, so I'd advise bringing a packed lunch if that isn't to your culinary taste!  Please let me know if you want to come by Monday 12th.  At the moment we don't have enough interest to proceed, and that would be a huge shame as this will be a great, FREE day out for everyone, AROC and LMC.

Can't help a slight twinge of jealousy at the fact that AROC still have a dealer network to butter them up with morning butties. They must be one of the last 'classic' led owners clubs in this position. I know that BMW and Porsche try hard to support their classic scenes but somehow their clubs don't seem to be in the same league as AROC, LMC and the big British sportscar clubs (as for the latter at least Lancia still exist).
