All

Do you have a Lancia where you can trace the ownership back to new (and also know that the first owner is still alive to be part of the article!)?

See request below:

Can you help me find a feature car for a new series in Classic Cars magazine called Life Cycle of a Classic.

For this we're looking for cars where the owner is in contact with, or can get in contact with the first and several subsequent owners of their car. The idea is that we interview people who represent different phases of the car's life, from new to secondhand, to old/scruffy through to classic/restored.

We also need owner pictures representing the different phases. In addition we will do a photoshoot of the current owner with the car.

We're looking for cars up to the 1980s.

If you have such a car please email me or private message me.

Thanks

I can trace my Flaminia convertible back to the first owner.  I think, however, that Classic car mag has already run just such an article on a Flaminia coupe.  The point of interest about my car is that the first owner was Paul Shelton and my name is Charles Shelton - spooky!! Shelton is not a common name and the car has only had four owners;  also it is one of only four 2.8 3c convertibles made in right hand drive.  We are not related and I had no idea that he had owned it when I bought it.  When I read back through the docs that came with it I have to say that it made the hair stand up on the back of my neck.  I think that when he bought the car back in the mid 60's Paul was sales manager for Lancia UK.

I'm only the 3rd owner of my Dilambda and when I moved into the village we now live in all three of us have lived here! The first owner was Paul Einzig who was here when he brought the car over in 1937 and I purchased it from the 2nd owner, Philip Glynn, who still lives here and who had the running chassis rebuilt by my almost next door neighbour!

Sadly, Paul Einzig died in the late 70s so I don't fulfill the criteria for this request. I doubt that many owners of pre-war cars do.

Iv'e been researching Mr Einzig and he turns out to be a most interesting character and with such an unusual name here in England I'm hopeful that I may be able to trace living family members who may remember the car.

Robin.
