Has anyone here had any success with a DIY blast furnace? Here is my experience so far. The last pic is the 'lid' in it's mold WIP  Thanks to mate Colin who is making this!

Gee..wow.....using it for what?

the 'lid' in it's mold WIP ...means?

That work in progress is the lid being cast in a bowl. It is made from fire cement. The tube will be on the underside when the lid is in use and act as an exhaust. Heat will be provided by gas apparatus. Smelting will be the purpose of this equipment.

Are you going to line it with firebricks ? otherwise I think you'll probably melt the drum!

The middle photo is of a plastic bottle in the centre of the tin can, with fire cement. Will pull it out today if the cement has fully set. Another pic
