Do I detect a touch of Fulvia Sport Zagato Influence?

Who was the stylist?
Anyway, while I don't particularly like the treatment of the Z Sport front (back is gorgeous) it is infinitely preferable to the VW snout.

Its not the winning but taking part! or is it taking apart?

Not Zagatos, but a VW treasure trove from the Telegraph

I believe I am right in saying that Emerson Fittipaldi raced a SP" extensively and very successfully in Brazil before he came to single seaters in Europe and greater success.
Whilst writing, can I say that IMHO the front of early Fulvia Sport Zagato is quite something, especially without bumpers (which I personally think were an afterthought added after the original design).
I particularly like the somewhat 'brutal' bulbous purposeful front of the car which is then wedded very effectively to the sveldt elegant rear of the car (again best without the large bumpers in my eyes).
If the front of the car could have had small seperate bumpers in the same style to the 2 individual bumpers fitted to the spare wheel hatch at the rear that could possibly have worked.
Of course I am not biased!

Nice write up and I like the comment that it was a sheep in wolf's clothing as it only had a 1.7 75BHP engine!
Must admit I do like the styling apart from the front end which imho doesn't gel with the rest., might have looked better with a bit of ornamentation on the front.

I also thought the Fulvia Sport was designed without bumpers in mind, and was a candidate for "rear of the year". I see Emo had this twin engined VW too

This USED TO BE my favourite Fulvia Zagato picture. Now those bumpers leap out at me...
http://www.influx.co.uk/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/lancia-fulvia-zagato-brochure.jpeg
I now need a "go to" picture for when others ask "so what do they look like then?" For me the side hinge bonnet and the rear hatch for the spare wheel are essentials. What I've never figured out is if the spare is in a draw or you just heave it out. How is it secured?
