Are you drifting away from the "original orange"?   I think it would look fantastic...

Lovely - that 3rd shot makes you realise what a beautiful shape the rear wings are with the pointed top etc. Decided on the colour yet?
still cant decide  Huh? I may end up putting the colours (names) in a hat and just picking 1 at this rate!!!

Not a coupe colour but I think it would look nice in series 1 Berlina Doncaster Grey, but like Tim, I'm biased Grin

Brian
8227 Cool

Strange you should say that Brian. I'm not sure what Doncaster Grey looks like but only the other day I saw a HF coupe for sale in plain dark grey. It was bumperless with just the HF stickers and looked stunning. So much so that in the parallel universe where I am obscenely wealthy I would have mine done the same colour.

I really don't know what to do, its frustrated me that much that I even considered selling the car last night! I've NEVER struggled with colour choices before and without bragging I'm more than pleased with the colour choices I have made on my other vehicles, problem I have now is I really want to finish the pickup and have lost a little interest in the HF, my routes are sliding pillar and that's what really "does it" for me, I have seen sence though and will finish the HF however it maybe up for grabs when done to fund something that interests me more, this forum doesn't help, after seeing the £135k b20 forsale its bringing back childhood memories of my dads old car CLU220B which he swapped with eddie gee for the astura, as you know he has another 6th series sitting around for restoration with ex maglioli engine, decisions decisions !!! That's a little beauty. The wheels look especially sharp.

certainly does, however I've "been told" by him that I'm not allowed to sell it unless its serious money and he also said that I'd regret it! we shall see, as the late Norman Stewart said to my father "you can only drive 1 so why have more" this is very true and out of the 5 Lancia's we have on the road its always the augustas that seem to get used

James, I suspect the 6th series might in the not too distant future, take its pride of place in the fleet.......from what I've seen in the short period I've been interested in Lancias and having witnessed your ongoing work, accumulated experiences in restoring a range of Lancias,  that the 6th series might well become the culmination of your work and indeed your fathers passion to date........

The B 20 when restored won't have a price on it.........

well after driving Ians car today for the 1st time on the road my enthusiasm has been more than revitalised ! so definatly 100% NOT SELLING!!! Ians car has a "proper" engine, 45's group 4 inlet and exhaust , variante 1016 cams blah blah blah, my engine is much the same spec and my dad wanted me to build it standard as he felt all the mods would make it undrivable , I agreed until Ian told me to have a go of his car, I was shocked at how tame it could drive through a village and how wild it was on the open road, so , plan of action, get my dad behind the wheel  Wink he finally agreed to "take it around the block" with Ian, 20 mins later he came back with an "ear to ear grin" and totally agreed on doing all the mods to the engine, so that made me leave his house with an ear to ear grin and thanking Ian for persuading him (by use of his car) , talking of ear to ear grins Ian seamed over the moon with his car and said it was "way more" than he expected

Stratos red/orange would be a fabulous colour on it...

Making things from wood a couple of times items have reached a stage when the customer says "it would be a shame to paint it". I've learnt to have faith and to remind myself that it will be even better properly finished.  I think you've got the same thing with wanting "the one you can see right in front of you".  That's a good sign - along with wanting to keep something you've just done for a customer.

Maybe there was an earlier thread but what work was involved on this car? It looks really good. Has a really nice nose-down stance. Reading this reminds me of having Graham Bates' HF to drive. That had a Peter Gerrish engine on 48's (I think - they were huge). Fitted with the curved trumpets that face to the back. Fantastic, and as you say totally docile creeping along in traffic. Although I'm not sure which cams were fitted. What is your view on running open carbs on the road? I know many people do. I have foam socks on mine. One problem here in the summer, when there are huge vehicles working in the fields, is you get great clouds of fine dust that just look like smoke across the road and I've never fancied hoovering that up.
