I WISH!!!!!! still lots to do, all the nuts bolts brackets etc for the suspension are going for zinc plating in the next few days, all the chrome is done, going a little OTT with underneath as I want it to look as good as the top, always wanted to go "all out" and build something to the best of my ability (and budget) will put some pics up of the rusty bits before the go for plating and on their return

With those holes in the battery tray did you turn the edges with just a hammer and dolly or into a former or press them...?   Its very neat, pukka factory finish.

hmmm a little photo trickery I thaink David as I didn't actually put the little lips on as original, its just too much work to reproduce such a small lip without a former, lack of demand (I only needed 1) makes it not viable for me to go any further than I have with it, when fitted I doubt someone who didn't know that I'd made it would spot it , fits like a glove so pretty pleased with it, to be fair even side by side in the flesh it does look "original" a friend of mine commented today and couldn't believe it was "home made"  Wink

Some more incredible work, yet again James. That battery tray is very impressive, as you say, much easier to make a new one than to try to repair the moth-eaten remains of the original.

The waist line of the shell looks perfect, excellent work, keep at it !!!!!

its one thing that bugged me when the car 1st arrived was how wavey the swage line was, i'm terribly picky on panel gaps and swage lines etc so spent a lot of time fitting the repair sections to minimalise distortion , once you've ruined the swage line it never really looks right

You've done a great job - and another 1.6 HF saved which is very important. I see that 1600 prices at least seem to be rising a lot lately. Could it be that finally they are being recognised for what they are. Never understood why, with their fantastic motorsport history, Fulvia prices have remained low next to some of the primitive cars out there which seem to command ridiculous money. Although this has been good so far for those who want a Fulvia. So, what next? How about the Zagato with the broken back? Keep you busy for a month or two!

Fulvia with a broken back?   Perhaps another example of "easier to make a new one"...

I've seen the broken back Zagato on ebay and think even the numerous miracle workers that frequent this site might struggle there!
