What's that thing on the scuttle behind the aircleaner?   A guess would be a brake master cylinder or reservoir but not in that direction.

As for the listing a terse description and no documents (how do you export without them?) but the right end of Italy to get to and for ethics.  Looks like a dealer teaser if you look at the other items and what he's sold.

It's also a 2nd series car, has chassis number 438-20705 which dates from 1940. The part David asks about is part of the SIATA rear shocker absorbers, not sure what it does though.

I didn't notice a chassis number, but I do see that the car has no stabilising bar between the rocker cover and radiator, which I thought was right for the series 1 only. It also has Lusso-type seats and lovely early bumpers, though again I don't know if the latter items were retained on pre-war series 2 cars. Having said all that, I don't think being a 1940 car would be a disadvantage in any way unless the VSCC would not hold it to be a post-vintage thoroughbred on the basis that pre-war has a different meaning in Italy than in Great Britain! It looks a bit of a holy grail car to me, I have to say, presuming the documents issue is manageable.

Ciao

The seller has sold several Aurelia's and lots of Aurelia spare parts in the past and I think quite a lot has been sourced from Spain but I may be wrong. Top prices usually asked but honest descriptions in my limited experience.
I am a bit worried about the lack of papers for an Italian car but maybe it hasnt been in Italy. I shouldnt think it will be an issue if the car is to be registered in the UK.
Interesting to see what it is bid up to....and whether it meets the reserve.
I would quite like to have a look at it......but to be honest I have always avoided Aprilias as I have quite enough on my plate coping with my enthusiasm for Aurelias!

What's the harm in looking?   See the threads on the Flavia Sport I fell for...

On closer inspection it looks like that chassis number is a bit of a furphy and it is 1st series. Simon can fill us in when he goes to collect it!!!

Don't know why it keeps appearing on eBay when it's advertised for £30000 here??
