Can you date a car by its tyres?

The Flavia Sport I've been sweeping up has four Armstrong Ultra Sport tyres with a white band and a Semprit as a spare. These are not makes I've ever heard of. Does anyone know when they were available?
Its just occurred to me to go and look for a date code on them...
Would any other regulation markings be a giveaway?
The only obvious date clue is a program from the 1972 Crystal Palace historic race meeting.

David, great that you are getting down and dirty with this already. The impatience of youth !!!
Semperits are still offered by mytyres.co.uk, but not Armstrong. You would have to make do with Armour or Armpower !!!!!
I presume you are hoping to get a feel for when it was last used ... might not the DVLA help you with this?
Please keep us posted, even if only with tantalising snippets.

I once owned an Alfa Giulietta Sprint that was fitted with Semperits and that was in 1967. I think they were of Austrian origin. I don't think they were particularly highly regarded.
