As most of you know i run a tyre depot, we have specialised in doing everyday tyres for everyday cars for over 11yrs now but we also do classic tyres in small volume , the big issue with the classic tyre industry and the motorsport industry is that its all tied up and you generally can only go through official agents for the brands, ie if you want a dunlop slick tyre the cheapest place to go is mr tyre motorsport as dunlop sell direct to them and they supply the rest of the world!  Sad
Good news! today by pure accident i supplied a set of yokohama road legal race tyres to a customer and tried a new suplier, everything went well and i phoned my new contact back to find out what brands they sell, they told me that i can supply Michelin Yokohama Kumho Pirelli and Toyo race and road legal race tyres, we then broached the subject of classic tyres and it turns out they can supply me direct on Pirelli and Michelin classic tyres also, so fingers crossed i will hopefully be able to supply for example 165-400 michelin X's at more reasonable money and definatly 155-14 165-14 etc at more competative rates than we are used to, i have sent a huge list of tyres all OE fitment on our precious cars and see what they come back to me with, i will keep you all posted and up to date but anyone requiring anything classic or motorsport tyre wise please contact me on   info@mineratyres.com  and i will do my best to give LMC members the best deal i possibly can

Hi James, if 400's are available at reasonable cost that is very good news!

James

Well done for persevering and hopefully getting some great tyres for us!

I would really like some Michelin XAS (or equivalent) 165 15 if you come across some (at a reasonable price Roll Eyes)

I will need four 165x14 soon, but the Michelin's prices I have seen are a little steep, hopefully Chugga can provide some better prices or alternatives.

James, I think you will rapidly become a friend to a large part of the LMC if you can pull this one off !!

If things go to plan I will, in the not too distant future, require 5no. 165 400, 5no 155 400 and 2no 155 14 tyres. You will be pleased to know that I have started saving !!!!!!

Well done on getting to grips with this long standing problem.
