Is that a Golf with a bodykit?

« on: 25 February, 2013, 08:57:58 PM »

This is a relatively new event but seems to be a Silverstone Classic for the Midlands.

Would there be any support for an LMC stand? Could do with gauging interest.

Parking in the infield and 2 for 1 tickets.

Regards

Andy

PS Just noticed the clash with Brooklands but it's "up North" in comparison so might appeal to a different crowd.

Hi Andy

Looks like a good event not sure if we can't make it though, did you go last year ?

Just wondered what spectating is like now at Donington, I went 2-3 years ago just after the F1 debacle and the circuit resembled a building
site. Spectating was limited to start line to Redgate on the infield and then from Redgate round to Macleans on the outside of the circuit. The
large grass bank on the infield had been excavated to the extent it looked like a quarry, such a shame as that was a great vantage point. I guess it has been re-instated now if there is infield parking.

Regards

Steve

Hi Steve

No I havent been to the event before. I noticed it last year but it was too late to arrange anything. In truth I havent been to Donington in a very long time despite it being 40 Minutes from me as I am a big fan of Oulton and viewing there is excellent.

Will do a bit more digging and see if I can find some feedback from 2012.

Regards

Andy

We have report and image gallery from 2012 at www.retro-speed.co.uk. Donington is much less formal than Silverstone with some great viewing areas. Club area is infield just yards from track.

Hi Andy

I was planning to travel up from Cardiff to Donington for this event, hopefully taking my Flaminia PF. Would obviously be interested if the club can sign up for the 2 for 1 offer and infield parking.  Grin
