Hi All,

Thought you would be interested in seeing this modified GT - with a new nose and 'wooden' dash

Cheers

It looks like they got their inspiration from the Flaminia Loraymo, one of the ugliest cars ever designed, I in my opinion. There was a slightly nicer custom Flaminia which sold a year or so ago, if I remember it had an elongated nose by a foot and flared in single headlights. Still sold for £17.5k, here’s the thread, http://www.lancia.myzen.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=4163.0

I like the dash it reminds me of a Karmann Ghia type 34 (razor edge) I once had, that had a thin plastic wood effect laminate, that was as brittle as a brittle thing.

sorry to disagree but  have you seen "Loraymo" in the metal? my views were similar to your own until we went to see the Lancia collection in 2004, yes it is brash in an American way, but to my eyes it's a lot more subtle than that in the metal, and I loved it.

Hi Brian

I must admit I haven’t seen “Loraymo” in the metal, it must be one of those cars that isn’t very photogenic. To me (looking at pictures) it looks over designed and just too fussy for my tastes, but as you know certain ‘strange’ cars can look truly awe-inspiring in the metal.

Are you talking about this ?

I always refered to that as the Lancia "Avanti" so I've learned something today  Cheesy

I took the photo above in 2001 during the Gamma 25th Anniversary meeting visit to the Lancia Museum. The rest of my photos (if anyone is interested) can be seen at http://www.gamma.fslife.co.uk/Start.htm

Frank,
Much depends on the angle of the photo, I always think it looks better in photos taken from a lower position, but as I said previously, you need to see it in the metal before passing judgement.
The large chrome plated Grille is in fact an energy absorbing bumper, and the rear window from above is the shape of the Lancia Shield.

I did see it in the metal and I think it's ugly!  Undecided But has some interesting design features nonetheless....

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" just as well we don't all like the same things as life would be very boring!
Never been a fan of American Styling but I like this one.

The Trevi is a lovely looking car, I thoroughly enjoyed mine for a couple of years but alas corrosion won !!!

My children thought is was an excellent car and nicknamed it 'Druggie' as they thought it looked like a car that drug dealers would have used!! In the main, they are relatively sane, given their parentage, this was one of their lighter deviations.
