The wiper arms on my series 2 Fulvia Zagato (ex Chris Nelson) have an annoying habit of lifting off the screen and waving at passing cars when I approach 80mph . It seems that the tensioning springs just aren't strong enough. Quite useful for keeping points off my license , but really annoying ! I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if so did they replace the complete assembly or is it feasible to replace the springs only. Other than that i'm happy to say the car is fantastic . One thing i've noticed driving such an individual looking car is that every one seems to love the shape but have no idea what it is , a lot of people are even unaware of Lancia! Quite often they seem to have to make a comparison to something else, one lady thought it looked like a reliant scimitar?? and recently a guy said it reminded him of a capri , I can only assume he hasn't seen a capri for some time. Perhaps a subject for a new topic (unlikely Lancia dopplegangers)!!

In the 'good old days' we used to be able to buy clip on spoilers to cure the problem but haven't seen them around for years. Lots of blades come with spoilers fitted now and some moderns are listed as separate from the blades.

Original wiper Fulvia wiper arms were 'sided' and curved to follow windscreen contours.

Treat your windscreen frequently with 'Rain X. and you don't have to worry about wipers lefting at speed as all the water beads straight off, assisted by an odd flick of the wipers from time to time you don't need to worry too much..

Can't help on the wipers but a girl I once worked with thought my S2 Fulvia coupe looked like a Triumph Spitfire. Well, I suppose they're both made of metal and have 4 wheels.....................

I have the same problem with my Sport. I have been looking for some "spoilers" for some time. I do not think you can change the springs for stronger or the anchor point may just break. I have some of the Rain X stuff so will try that.

She should have known the transverse spring was at the wrong end!

On my Series 1 Fulvia Sport the wipers only start to lift off at 110 mph. Something I tend not to worry much about these days.

I'm a definite fan of Rain-x. When I was racing my old Fulvia that was the most consistent part of my prep-always put Rain-x on!
