It is a bit odd having a more modern plate than the real age of the car, (not illegal in this case) but it is not the first LHD Y reg Fulvia I have seen. It is registered on the V5C as 1973, so next year I will qualify for zero tax like the pre 1973 cars at present.  A trip to the DVLA is planned later this month, I did speak to them in June as I did not have the paperwork back from them I could not visit the local office in Wimbledon.

Neil,
Have you checked it's build date against those build figures showing the chassis Number by Model built within the 12 month period that I posted a while ago, although your Fulvia is registered in 1973 it might have been built in 1972.
Do you have the model and chassis number please as I can check for you.

Brian, I have the lists, my car was built in the middle of the 1973 range which ties in with date on the cylinder head (June), it is shame the lists were not broken down by month to get a more accurate date.

That would have been nice but when you think that prior to this list coming to light everything was a educated guess!

Yes those lists have been very useful for many of us I am sure, better than as you say an educated guess.   I often wonder if some months are busier for production than others, did they have a summer shutdown and possibly again at Christmas as some car manufacturers used to do, no idea how the factories operated on a month by month basis.  I am sure their operations would have changed dramatically in the last decade or so.

What a show this month!  A wide spectrum of cars in the car park including Pat's Lambda (which is a fabulous & regular sight at the Chestnut Horse) as well as two Fulvias and a Y10 making up the remainder of the dedicated monthly attendees.  And to spice up the mix a bit we were graced with an immaculate Delta Integrale Evo 2 and a snorting rally-prepared Fulvia, both of which arrived together after a spirited drive to the venue  Wink

Thank you to all that attended.

PS.  There was a rather nice Austin Healey there too (not part of the club contingency)

Just a note to say that the Hampshire meet continues despite me being required elsewhere each tuesday until Christmas.  Barbara, Peter and other die-hard Hampshire Lancisti suffer the warm pub and hearty food & drink in my absence.

An email to all Hampshire (and honorary Hampshire) members in my address book will shortly follow to reiterate the above and prompt for ideas for spring/ summer mini-events.

NEW YEAR...
...NEW VENUE...
...NEW COORDINATOR

The Chestnut Horse is a pleasant country pub offering the charm of an olde-worlde drinking establishment along with good food. However, because of this, it was a tad popular and it was therefore difficult to find a space to sit and enjoy it. Summer wasn’t too bad, with seating outside, but at times even this proved challenging.

So, following a number of mutterings, it has been agreed (after consultation with the ‘congregation’) that we ought to change venue as of 2014. I must admit that, due to other commitments recently, I have not been party to the selection process but perhaps that was a good thing as I may have been precious about maintaining the idealism of yocal pub and horse brasses on the fireplace etc. As it is, the proposal is something rather different and despite initial reservations I must admit that I am sold on a number of inherent benefits.

The chosen venue for the monthly meet going forward will be the Holiday Inn on the outskirts of Winchester, which is in keeping with the desire to keep the venue central within Hampshire. It is located next to the INTECH Science Centre & Planitarium, off the Alresford Road.

Telegraph Way. Morn Hill. Winchester SO21 1HZ

Whilst the Holiday Inn is arguably the antithesis of The Chestnut Horse, being as it is neither olde- worlde nor a public house, it does offer ample parking, plenty of seating, food at comparable prices and comes with recommendations from other members. From what I have seen it does look rather swish too!
May I also take this opportunity to announce that I am being joined on the rostrum by Geoff Wheeler who will be joint coordinator with me for the Hampshire region. In the event that one of us is swamped with work or on holiday, the other will hopefully be contactable with any queries. My thanks go to Geoff for agreeing to be my wing man and my thanks also go to all the Hampshire members who helped make the local meet such a success in 2013.
Wishing you all a very Happy Christmas & Good Health for the coming year. See you on Tuesday 7th January 2014 Smiley

Regards
Mark ... & Geoff

Spring Lunch

…an invite from Peter & Geoff

“Following the move to the Holiday Inn for our regular meetings (just outside Winchester on the A31 roundabout) we are holding a lunch there for all LMC members on:

9th March, 2014.

There is a Sunday menu costing £11.95 for two courses and £14.95 for three (pay on the day.)

The Secretary and President have tested the restaurant and found it good, however drinks are a little pricey!  Geoff Wheeler is organising the lunch and can be contacted by phone 07925556710  or e mail : mansard-house@hotmail.co.uk

Please advise him by 27th February at the latest so he can arrange a suitable table for us.

Come and join us; we look forward to your company and a splendid show of Lancia models.

Peter Gerrish. Hon. President.”

It was the warmest day of 2014 in the Southeast and Hampshire was covered in glorious sunshine so an excellent day to get the Lancia out and go to the Winchester Holiday Inn for a spot of lunch  Grin Quite a few of us did (sorry, I didn't count but I believe there were about 20). Here's some photos in the hotel's car park:

Theo - agreed, it was a rather splendid lunch.  Thanks for taking some pics and posting.  Not sure about the shade-wearing wannabe socialite that keeps getting in shot though.

Credit to Geoff for organising the event, with assistance from Peter too.

Thanks to all that drove over for the social lunch, some from as far afield as Enfield!!!!

A great show of cars, old and new.

I did little more than turn up and enjoy the conversation, Lancia and the sunshine.  Cool

A nice Sunday

With the clocks having just gone forward, my tardy arrival at the Hampshire meet wasn't under a dark sky but instead a bright and clear celestial backdrop.  This afforded me a clear view of a rather splendid Delta quite a way down the car park, which I duly staioned alongside.  This car was new to me and when I joined the small gathering inside I discovered the owner was new to me too.  Indeed he was new to the club and new to Lancia.  We were chuffed to have a new member with us, and an enthusiastic one at that who is all set to come to AutoItalia Bristol day and the AGM.
Unfortunately, I failed to ask the obvious question "what's your name", instead asking "what cars do you have? how did you come about getting such a pristine Delta?  How many miles on the clock" ...etc.  So apologies to our new member and (rightly) proud owner of the car below Smiley  I shall quiz our Database Wizard (Steve Pilgrim) to ascertain your name and subsequently give you due introduction.
By the way, my name is Mark and it was a real pleasure to chat with you yesterday!  Cheesy

Roger! (amendment post Steve Pilgrim comment)
