Thinking of going to Retromobile 2013 and not having been before wonder how long to go for. Is one day at the show enough? Where to stay? Any other advice?
Robin.

Each to their own , but I went a couple of years ago and found 1 day was sufficient. There was a single (albeit) large hall with a variety of clubs, stands and Automobilia along with the cars for the auction. I scoured the trade section, but found the prices a bit daunting .......
I am going again this year and will be assisting the manning of the Lancia Club France stand for a couple of hours on Thursday ( 12:00-14:00 7th Feb). I am looking forward to seeing the first ever French steamtrain run (recreated) and the propeller driven cars
Do you know which day you are going ?
Re hotels, sorry cannot help because I am doing a day trip

Robin, I have been the last three years, one day is enough, not as big as the NEC, last year it was on the ground floor in two halls, lots to see predominantly French of course, the auction area seems to be expanding, access by catalogue only if you wish to view the cars.
A good day out, you can park nearby in the underground car park which is not too expensive. Not stayed locally, we drove and stayed the night before in Beauvais last year and drove the last hour into Paris, then left late afternoon for the dash to the channel, alternatively we have done it by car all in one very long day via the tunnel. The traffic in that area can be pretty heavy on the peripherique, but does move.

Thanks guys, Eurostar to Paris early Friday so should make the show by lunch time and its open until 10pm so should have plenty of time there. Booked into a small trendy hotel for the night and return on Eurostar Saturday evening. Birthday present for Jonathan and me. Sorry won't get to be to catch you there Simon. Robin.

Very busy this year, well Thursday was ! I found it difficult to take any good photos because there was always someone walking into shot (poor excuse for poor photos!) I found the artisan village very expensive and a bit limited, although I did find (and buy) a very nice set of unused and original Aprilia manuals. They also had a set of Aurelia manuals, a set of hubcaps and radiator badge for an Aurelia, but I daren't ask the price ....
The Lancia Club France stand had a lovely pair of Fulvias and was, as always, very convivial. There was a steady stream of visitors asking a variety of questions such as cambelts for Thema 8.32's or "how much should I bid for that lovely Flaminia SuperSport in the auction " - obviously not enough .....
My favourite non-Lancias - Citroen familiale complete with skis and suitcases on the roof and something with an enlarged cooling fan !
Great day out

We have a full image gallery plus a rambling report on RetroMobile at www.retro-speed.co.uk. We also enjoyed the hospitality of Lancia Club France, both Fulvias being in average condition but lovingly owned.
