Certainly looks worth a look, I understand Beta rust particularly around the rear suspension turrets but you need the seats and carpets out to have a good look.

Being a mere school boy in 1977......ok......ok.......just about to do A levels.....the Betas didn't have the greatest of reputations....so apart from general tinworm, the turrets were even worse??

I've sent Andy Collins a text (our Chairman) - he would know more about Betas that probably anyone. He would be able to provide advice - OR - have a look on the betaboyz forum - I expect it's been noticed!

As a long time Beta owner I would say it has to be worth a look at that price. There are relatively few saloons left. The mere fact that it is in one piece suggests it is not a rust affected car. The front turrets look generally ok so for me it would be the sills and rear inner wheel arches that I would check. Oil leaks can be a pest as well.

As Steve says Andy is your man and the Betaboyz site is so good that unfortunately it keeps Beta traffic to a minimal on here!

Beta Forum member is viewing it on Friday (with cash, oil and coolant - so he's fairly serious!). It was on eBay a few months ago. It's a 1300 with a 2000 transplant. Current owner only bought it for accompanying 1300 powertrain which seller would not split. He needed the low ratio box for a racing Coupe.

It has now gone through the NI MOT so should be solid.

No, he didn't make it due to work commitments but is hoping to go later this week. He's an Irish member so car will be staying on your side off the sea if he does bite.
