I was having lunch with an Aurelia owner a few weeks ago, when he told me that the Aurelia jack is the same as the Appia's, but has a round 'foot'.

Can anyone with an original Aurelia jack confirm this please?

Pictured is the jack from my S6 B20 (1957).  I don't  know if it is definitely original, but someone will be able to inform us. Rectangular foot as you can see, and in what I think is the correct 'Battaini' blue - I have several others for other Lancias that are the same colour.

The parts books (S1 1st edition and second edition and S2) all have the same illustration showing a round-footed jack, which can also be seen in the period photo below.

Thanks William for your in-depth answers.

So the Appia shares many of the Aurelia's tools!

My Appia has come with a small bottle jack so I have no idea what an original Appia jack looks like.

My B20 jack is shown in  the photo and has very little paint left on it. There is a trace of blue paint adjacent to the foot whilst that on the gear housing appears to be a more khaki colour. It appears, from the above posts, to be original and I am delighted to have discovered that, I had assumed it but was not certain.

Another little bit of knowledge, I am slowly but surely learning about these cars.

Best wishes,

Here my 2 cents:

I have 4 Aurelia jacks, 3 with a round foot, see photos, and 1 with a rectangular foot on the B12 (had no time to fetch it from the garage where the car is stored)

The blue one is on the 3rd series B20, and must have been repainted when the car was restored, 20 years ago. It is the only one with the marking "Brevetti C.I.M.A. Torino" on the top cover. It also has a small rubber bumper on it, closing a hole on top. The whole jack, including the handle, is painted.

The rough one has always been with the B50, and believed original, never repainted. There are traces of darker blue paint on it. Notice the small handle, which is uncolored?

The black one I received from a friend, provenance unknown, and was repainted black.
Basically all 3 jacks are the same, but not quite!

part of a group of "factory photos" offered by someone in the US. Many are from the B22, not sure about this, but it looks period.

Thanks everyone for your wonderful contributions!  So Jack Appia is SIMILAR to his Aurelia cousin.

I note that the Aurelia ellipsoid covers over the bevel gear set are held on with two screws, whereas my Appia ones are octagonal and just pressed in.  Smiley
