London is crawling with B*Ms stickered up being driven by people in HiViz jackets.  Has Lancia ever had an Olympic connection?  Any connection with other sporting events like bike racing?

I have been out to see both road cycling events this weekend and nearly all vehicles including the Police are that German brand, I seem to remember the Tour de France had Lancia support vehicles in the 1980/90s, I am sure someone here can confirm that.

Yes, that's correct. They now use Skodas. I seem to remember Lancia supporting golf a few years ago. Regards, John

Sure it's much more recent than the 1980/90's that Lancias were used for supporting Cycling including the TDF.

I found a supporting Kappa from 1995 on the tour, maybe some pictures of the 1960 Rome games might be on line somewhere?

Honda  Silver Wing police bikes make a change.  I saw half a dozen parked in a row the other day looking very racey compared with the very upright BMWs with their huge screens.

My 13yr old son was funny after we'd seen the torch.  He told me he had a strange desire to drink some coke, open a TSB account and buy a Samsung TV.  I told him I just wanted the police bike.

I got to this just in time - cars "just" parked rather than suspended as the article suggests.  Couple of films on the end with cordless headphones.  Sara noticed all the security, perhaps I thought they were punters or maybe just preoccupied with the exhibits.
