That car's been on the market for a while, at a slightly higher price than that now quoted.  Seller does seems a bit ignorant, but the price is now broadly in line with that being asked (and, it seems, quite often achieved) by project B20s. 

The question of how many 3rd Series cars might still be 'alive' is an interesting one.  Presumably the Registro Aurelia Italiano have some data on this.  I've not seen any figure that I recall for the number of the 3,871 (?) made that might have survived.  Peter Harding 'looks after' about 35-40 that are running in the UK (I think that's the figure he mentioned to me anyway)...
