A big thank you to Donald for all of the hard work in making the GNW such a success.  The hotel was first class, with good food and excellent service.  The tour route was thoroughly enjoyable, and was made even better by some beautiful weather Smiley  Also, thank you to David and Irene for producing the quizzes (they certainly gave my brain cells a bit of a workout!), and also to Bob Adamson for donating the trophies.  As always, it was great to see so many old friends and be able to make some new friends.

Can I just add my thanks to Donald and his team for a great weekend which was enjoyed by all the family-a very sociable event where you catch up with old friends and make some new ones-and sunshine as well!

Fantastic weekend, perfect location, super hotel, top weather (forecast got it wrong again- thank goodness), lovely people and plenty of youngsters (English, Scottish & Dutch)too who all played together and had a great time.
Well done Donald & Co, these GNW's (G Sottish W in this case) never fail to impress, they just get better and better. Certainly our favourite event on the outstanding LMC calander.

June & I would like to add our thanks to Donald for organising a really super weekend in a delightful setting. The perfect weather ensured that the scenery on the tour looked exceptional.  It was great to meet up with all our Scottish, Dutch & Northern friends plus a few from the South.

Thank you all for the kind words. I have also received some e mails expressing appreciation.  I was relieved that it all went so well, and so many people made the trip. Thanks are due to Bob Adamson for supplying the glass trophy for the observation trophy, and the pens. Irene hart for doing the Scottish quiz and trophies. David Hart for the photo quiz. Alan and Sheila Borthwick for some raffle prizes. Also a big thank you to Willem Posthumus Meyjes for supplying the chocolate lancia Shields, plus some other lancia stuff.
I am at a bit of a loss now as I don't have daily conversations with the Hotel management. I don't have to go round the route again to find more clues, and talk to the Distillery people. My printer is having a well deserved rest, having got through loads of ink cartridges.  I thought the Hotel staff were great. The duty managers kept in touch with me throughout the weekend, to ensure everything was going OK. I am looking forward to Durham next year.

Donald - it really was an excellent weekend - so many thanks from Lorna and myself for all your hard work. It was a great attendance - and the number of people who came long distances does show what a well-deserved reputation the GNW now has. The hotel was in a great location and we thought the staff were really helpful. The scenery was (of course) wonderful and we thought it was a very sociable and enjoyable event. Thanks again to everyone involved!
