White Y10 Fila just sold on e-bay. One lady owner 33,000 miles. Winning bid £1,700!

Help. What is happening to my supply of cheap motors?

A couple of friends are on the lookout for such a thing.  Modern cars are reaching the point where they cost a ridiculous amount to run.  Its not just the mechanical side but insurance and things like the price of a light unit.  A Y10 is right in that sweet spot between crusty classic and a dustbin full of wires and gizmos, as well as being a fine car of itself.

Can you still see the eBay item no.?  We are having difficulties with the insurance co. over the value of the Selectronic that my son Jack recently wrote off.  We had it insured for £1000 but they have only offered us £250 (less the excess).  It was one of the best in the country - only 20K miles and in a museum for 15 years so if a higher mileage Fila can get £1700 then I think the Insurance co. ought to find a bit more.

Here's a link to the page (you can search by 'Completed Listings'.  Guess the item number is 320765131518 per the link.

Charles

Being the LMC Y10 Advisor, you can come to me for an "official" valuation which the Insurance company should at least give some creedence to given my role. Have to say the eBay link should demonstrate the value these cars can now have due to their rarity

Only last week won a battle over the value of my sister's (soon to be Cat C) Ypsilon
