after having a lengthy "lancia" discussion with my father today we both came to a conclussion that you may or may not agree with, would it be of interest to any other users to have a section on here for "lancia legends" ie people whose lives were all about the marque and what they did for the marque, im not talking about the lancia family or employees im talking about joe public people, the reason im asking is that we were talking about the late norman stewart who as many of you know was well known in lancia circles up to 20 yrs ago when unfortunatly he suffered a brain tumour, we will always be gratefull to norman as he found my fathers aprilia astura aurelia and augusta for him amongst other things, all i feel is that people like norman should be remembered and not forgotten, i knew him well from a small child to a teenager and can tell a few tales about him, im sure many of you have tales about either norman or other characters eg harry manning , barry waterhouse etc who were in the lmc and could tell tales or put photo's up of them or their work , like i said just a thought but if so would it be better as a section on here rather than just 1 topic in general chat??

Chugga,
I think that is a great, original idea for the Forum. I'm happy to create this - just wondering whether it should be public or private section of the forum ? I don't see why it can't be public so everyone (ie: member or not) can read it.

We should announce it in VL! as well so others may be encouraged to read or contribute.

I'll wait a couple of days and see what the consensus is and then create it.

It also sounds like possible book material to me - Jack has been begging for information on people who contributed to the history of Lancia for inclusion in the book project for the Club.

Lancias that begin with "F" ... and affordable variants beginning with "Z" and "P" ..... and now with added "Y"!

I have added a new board in the General Chat section so that you can share your stories about our club legends!

Does Jack look at the Forum? If not it might be worth flagging up this section to him re The Book.

LMC Legends or Lancia Legends or both ? (just wondering)

I'd suggest each topic would be the name of a person and then anyone with experiences of the person could add to that to that topic.

Jack is registered on the forum (under the name Wizard). He doesn't use it though.

i think anyone who was well known in lancia circles not just lmc members, i will do something about norman as soon as my dad can sort me out some photo's, norman was different to most as he litterally lived and breathed Lancia through and through more than anyone else who i've met, im glad the idea has been taken up i just hope others will contribute as i'd love to hear more about harry manning

Remember that lots of us have written notes on Barry Waterhouse and other legends of the LMC, for the book. It would be a pity if most of the book material was posted on the forum now in my opinion BUT if any of you have not written to Jack re such luminaries as B.W., Harry, Norman Stuart etc, please do it now or even sooner! Cheers. Peter Gerrish.
