Congratulations to Ben Courage for organising todays Aprilia gathering at Goodwood alongside the track day.
There were 20 Aprilias there including a couple of Pinin Farina Cars and a Ghia Spider.

What a fantastic turnout and a joy to see so many Aprilias in one place  -  must be just about every driveable car south of Carlisle (David Wheeler being the longest traveller, I believe).

As usual with trackdays, there were quite a few non-LMC spectators turning up to see what was going on and I heard many admiring comments about our cars.

I hope the track-day participants, well-organised by Brian Mills, had as good a day on the track as we did.

I am pretty smitten with the Aprilia after Saturday.

This one is screaming "save me!"

It would indeed....but my head looks good on my shoulders (at least I think so) and I reckon my missus may well offer to show me what it looks like under my arm if I went ahead and bought it!

Just a thought , maybe for the committee (?) but seeing how ever year there is an anniversary then would it be possible to do a parade every year at Goodwood for that particular model or models ?

Yes, I agree with everyone! It was a great day and deserves a huge tribute to Ben Courage for arranging all the Aprilias, each of which deserves a write-up on its own, and to Brain Mills and others for the track-day.

I enjoyed talking with old friends and looking at cars other than my own. If only to reassure David Laver that Aprilias and colour photos are not alien to me, here is a photo of the ex-Rodney Wilkinson Aprilia looking like it’s being enjoyed by Les Sheldon, its current owner.

Yes, very good day, many thanks Ben.  Italian car day at Beaulieu the day after was good too.
I hate to brag (liar) but the Aprilia sailed down the motorway from Carlisle to Ben's at 70mph on Friday, similar speed to Goodwood and the same all the way home.  Only problems, slight misfire on the way down, cleared by opening the radiator shutters (bit of fuel vaporization) and loss of brakes - but only 50 miles from Ben so we continued on the handbrake and repaired the cracked brake line there.
Had a scary time on the way back when we hit a cloudburst just north of Birmingham on a four lane bit.  Could not see a damned thing, lorries to the left and right of us, just kept between the white lines at undiminished speed until we got out of it (well driven, Jude).
What splendid little cars they are!
