Well, not exactly ‘seen on the road’, but seen on UK TV this evening, In a BBC4 programme ‘Tintin and Me’ there was a telling portrait of Georges Remi, better known as Herge. This was based mostly on interviews with him in 1970 and included a film clip of  him driving a car through Brussels – the wooded Lancia badged steering wheel and dash looking oh so Flavia 2000. Wonderful!

Lovely dark green open Lambda on the old A41 at Bourne End, near Hemel Hempstead, early this evening (Sun 16th). Its owner waved because I was in my Fulvia HF. What are the chances of a random Lambda/Fulvia encounter like this happening? I was on cloud nine.

John,

That would have been Mike Guest’s lovely Lambda on its way home after meeting up with about 99 other Lancias in the Piazza in Covent Garden to celebrate 100 years of Lancia in the UK. You may remember this was an event I emailed you about ages ago, but unfortunately you couldn’t attend. Lots of lovely cars there, from 1910 through to 2007, including all the variants of Fulvias  – a real pity that you missed it. Cloud 9? Yes.

Colin.
