Nice looking Dedra 1.8se for sale on ebay but only a day or so to go, it has the optional Alcantara that was very rare on 1.8's as they normally came with cloth.
The SE's were a special lot with many extras that were only sold in the first year of Dedra in the UK, and even some of the dealers didn't seem to know what the SE indicated.
Does anyone in the Bristol area know this Dedra as it wasn't shown in the 2000 register, yet for some reason the registration number looks familiar.

Just been informed that this is owned by a Club Member who has a number of other cars, in fact it went to Turin for the 100th Anniversary in 2006.

Ended now and it didn't meet its reserve. I wonder if someone has negotiated themselves a bargain or if it'll pop back up again in a few days?

If the Dedra's not your cup of tea there's always this rare Italian beast:

Not a bad workhorse for not a lot of money, at least unlike my Delta HF Turbo of the same period it has power steering, Diane always found the HF too heavy for her, along with John Brain we looked at fitting  Regatta power steering to the HF, it would have been possible using the regatta steering rack, but decided too much hassle, and by then a very nice series 3 Thema Vis Auto was attracting my attention Cheesy

Just been informed that this is owned by a Club Member who has a number of other cars, in fact it went to Turin for the 100th Anniversary in 2006.

In the pic on eBay with the boot lid open you can see the sticker from the rally - it's G3 177.

It looks like a nice car and I'd have been interested in it myself, but I have already got one!

In fact I have just realised that apart from a Zeta (which is a Peugeot van really), I own the entire 1996 Lancia range!

I need help...

Cheers

Alan it was in the same group us in Turin and I took a photo of all our cars at La Mandria, if you look at the photo I've posted above, it has the Yellow 177 Number at the top of the windscreen.

Hi Brian

Yes, I know - I saw it in your pic. I just meant that like all of us (I think!) he has kept the sticker on the car for nearly 5 years! A couple of years back I took my S1 Appia to a magazine photoshoot, and the photographer said 'Oh no - not another Lancia with those £$@&* yellow numbers on the windscreen'!

I have kept the big yellow ones on there as a souvenir of the trip, and as the car isn't a daily driver and they are on the passenger side it doesn't worry me. But according to the journalist everyone else had kept them on their windscreens as well and it ruins all his photos, although at least the Dedra bloke has only got his inside the boot.

And it does look like a tasty car, doesn't it? I LOVE Alcantara interiors, and it looks really nice in that colour, although my favourite is the green, which I think is classy (although in the road test they refer to it as an unappetising shade of weed green!). But the other manufacturers are now catching up - there is a used Audi A3 on sale at a local used car dealer, and the seats are all Alcantara (and I was also pleased to see that it gets scuffed even on Audis!).

Cheers

Well said Lee - man after my own heart!

I have always wanted to own all of the cars that disappear off the road and get forgotten, and the Regata is a top example of this.

And yet I have all the What Car road tests from the early and mid 80s (I never throw anything away!), and for ages it was their Best Buy medium saloon. Unfortunately their judgment is called into question slightly in that it swapped places now and then with the Austin Maestro, but you can't have everything!  Cheesy

Don't know if you have ever been to the Atwell-Wilson Motor Museum in Calne, but I went there (on an LMC trip!) a while back, and it was fantastic! Not that much Italian stuff, but almost every car in there was one that I hadn't seen for at least 20 years because no-one bothers to collect them.

Yes, I definitely need help!

Cheers

Hi Alan,
I made such an bottom (A--e) of a job putting my yellow numbers on that by time I took them off they were only fit to go in the bin, for some reason I couldn't get them to stick on the screen (Rain X?) that they finished up on the bonnet.
But I still have the small Event sticker at the centre top of the windscreen, very good quality as it's still in good condition getting on for 5 years later.

My first Dedra was a White 2.0iese with the green Alcantara, and like youself I think it was the best colour as it didn't show dirt or wear anything like as bad as the lighter colours, it was funnily enough a very restful colour.
I had 2 Black, 1 Silver, 1 Green and the White Dedra and I still think the White with the Green Alcantara was the best looking combination, it had enough black and chrome on it to combat too much glare from the white.
I sold my complete spare interior in Green Alcantara to Nigel Hargreaves for his metallic red 1.8, sadly for some reason the cloth in 1.6's & 1.8's used to shred, which is why Nigel was after a replacement interior, not sure how it went with the red but the original interior was a red/brown cloth and all the plastic components including the dash was a near black shade of brown, as far as I know the only body colour to have that colour interior.

Appia's keeping up with modern traffic Guy! I chased Don Cross in his breathed on series Appia from Gap in the South of France in my Thema series 3, Don and Margaret left Gap about 1/2 hour before we did and it took me best part of 100 miles to catch them, I certainly wasn't hanging about, and Don was doing a good 70mph when we caught up!

I had three Regata's in the 80s , the first was a 1.6 standard spec, the second was a 1.6 sx I think, a much nicer interior electric windows ect, the third was 100 sie, much better more power. They were very like a Prisma to drive but half the price, thats what happened when I went to view a Prisma at the Fiat Lancia dealer I came away with a Regatta. Well we all make mistakes.  Grin

We had a C reg Regata as our family car back in the late 80s. It was the 85 Comfort, so not that full of kit, but it was a revelation after the Talbot Solara that my dad taught me to drive in! After the head gasket went (and the main dealer bodged the repair) it was traded in for a Mazda 626 that stayed with the family for 10 trouble free years.

It's actually rare enough not to be in the database at all so at some point it'll go in. Probably next month when it's light enough to get a photo of it Shocked)
