Just had a problem with my Filter King pressure regulator / filter.

This is fitted down stream from a redtop facet pump and feeds the 42mm Solexs on my 1600HF.

Last year after moving from winter storage I notice a puddle of liquid on the floor thinking water but realised petrol. Petrol was leaking from the FK filter bowl. Taking to pieces and re assembling it didnt leak for a whole year. Yesterday same but worse. Went through dis/assy which seemed to work, but after a drive (wasnt yesterday a perfect winter driving day dry / blustry / and no salt) it was leaking again. As the petrol drips onto the horns could have had a nice bbq!

Googled this and found that Filter Kings supplied with plastic bowls are susceptible to modern petrol additives and go soft/distort!!!!

I called the distributor who is going to post a glass bowl FOC no questions asked.

Thought I would mention as Filter Kings are a popular upgrade to performance car fuel systems.

Not good Tim Shocked
I didn't realise you could have one with a plastic bowl, mine came with a glass bowl when I bought it.

Richard

Re glass bowl /track use - Good point - I suppose a random stone or accident could cause a dramatic breakage, and flood of petrol.
