I spotted this coming up at the Coys auction at the NEC on Jan 15th:

http://www.coys.co.uk/auction.php?carID=53&auctionID=8

Looks a little strange as it was a 16v which became an Evo? Can anyone shed any more light? What might it be worth? I see it's a POA...

Mark,

Form conversations with various people, I think you will find the early EVO rally cars were converted from 16V as they could not get the shells in time.

John Brain of Bob Brain Developments has an EVO rally car which is also converted from a 16V, run by a Dutchman in Argentina.

This car was rallied by Steve Smith, then he brought and rallied the Repsol livery car.It  is now owned by Rob Benett, who has had it restored from a bare shell, which is stamped with cecomp 001, and also rallied in the network Q rally with Steve.

Thanks, that pretty much says all that needs to be said. I'll dream on. But a good discussion point for our next LONDON GROUP MEETING at the ACE CAFE NEXT THURSDAY! (13th Jan)
