My first ever trackday and a whole lot of fun.  My Delta seems to have survived too which is a relief.  Smiley

A big thanks to everybody involved and yes, can't wait 'til next year.

Yes, a brilliant day all round, and huge thanks to Brian and all who organised and ran it. Apologies for not bringing the intended Fulvia HF, but I had a fine time with my Peugeot 205 GTI - the first time I've had a proper track session with it in the seven years I've owned it. At least its Speedline wheels are Italian.

What a great day, fantastic fun putting my car through its paces. Thanks John for the tyres and Jeff for the camera mount, and thanks to everyone involved in organising a brilliant event.

Had a great time on Saturday as did my son. It was the first time he's been big enough to be a passenger despite having raced karts for past 3 years

What a view !!

Back in the foreground I'm assuming the "string" is for remote operation of a blind - but what are the two items peeking though oval cutouts?

David

Well spotted! The blind came loose on the run down....

What lovely pictures.  Was SOOO looking forward to the day but got behind with work.  Anthony Hussey's Aurelia with all the bug spats on the front.  Is that the electric Rolls?  The Bentley convertable cutting it very fine on the chicanne.  Nice to see Aprilias at speed in colour to contrast with Colin Marr's black and white collection.  The car that jumped out was the Thema - time was they'd be a host of them on track and I can't remember the last time I saw one.

Anthony Hussey was pointing out how good his driving was as he'd managed to get every bug he'd aimed for on the way down ..... Wink

Yes, I agree with everyone! It was a great day and merits a huge tribute to Ben Courage for arranging all the Aprilias (each of which deserves a write-up on its own), and to Brain Mills and others for the track-day.

I enjoyed talking with old friends and looking at cars other than my own. If only to reassure David Laver that Aprilias and colour photos are not alien to me, here is a photo of the ex-Rodney Wilkinson Aprilia looking like it’s being enjoyed by Les Sheldon, its current owner!

It was a great day. I had a trip round with Mark in his Barchetta and I think I was grinning the whole time. A fabulous car, and what fun to do 100mph+ with the top down. Smiley

David
The items (in the pic from inside Freds Aprilia) peeping through the oval cut-outs are the boot lid hinges.

And many thank-you's to all those who took and posted the pictures. I of course forgot to take my camera!

Thanks to all for the organisation and driving tips. Had an excellent day in the (quietly now) 156. Forgotten how much fun the Track Day is. Haven't done it for years. Definitely back next year. Very tempted to see what other similar "events" are 'round and about.

Ciao.

To all attendees - well, thank you all for coming and  I'm glad you enjoyed the day. This was not just a trackday plus the 75th birthday celebration of the Aprilia - the paddock was more like the LMC national rally on speed. (take that how you will!). I was overwhelmed by the attendance of a great cross section of members and the kind comments made by many.

Please, please get ready to enter or support next year. Anybody got any good ideas to raise money at the trackday for the club???  as it costs  £1000 per hour to run this event. The club subsidises the day and is happy to do so within reason. We as a club must not loose this event as it is so attached to our heritage - this all depends on your continued excellent support!
