so, not sure how official this is, but Fiat Ireland have posted a link on their Facebook page claiming Chrysler will launch their version of Lancia's Ypsilon & Delta in 2011...here's the link.....

http://www.completecar.ie/news/article/505/Fiat-Group-to-launch-26-models-in-two-years

question is, if Chrysler did launch a Delta or Ypsilon, would you buy it?? I would!

Ok You would'ent buy  a Chrysler, but the model started out in life as a Lancia Delta, so is it a Lancia or a Chrysler ? Would a Chrysler fan not buy it because it's A Lancia ?  Grin

Interview with Andrew Humberstone, who's in charge of Fiat UK. Looks like we'll get Delta badged as Delta, all down to the upholstery!

More in Autocar this week, putting some flesh on the bones of the story.  Definitely happening, and will be simply rebadged Lancias - trim, names etc all remaining the same.

so, it seems Chrysler's Delta & Ypsilon will be a "value" alternative, as is the same of the new Jeep Grand! & Delta is only going to be around for another 2 years!

We ordered our new smart today, our fifth, from our local smart, Mercedes Benz, Chrysler and Jeep dealer. They confirmed that they're expecting to have Deltas on sale from this June and the new Ypsilon from September. I personally thought that the new Polish built 5 door Ypsilon has been postponed by Sig. Marchionne. We'll see......

There have been recent spy shots of the new Ypsi in the motoring press, and some considerable certainty around that it will appear this year (with the Twin Air engine, and on a stretched 500 platform).  Looking forward to seeing it.
