So the colour sample that you sent me is considered to be too dark by the paintshop.

Was that a mistake on the part of the paint mixer or was the original Lechler Lancia Blue 121 the wrong spec to be using?

the 121 colour chip matches my car so all is well there.so the problem was the initial mix.i can send another sample if you like although it will look like a 121 chip which you can see locally at your paint shop i suppose.please let me know as its only a postal delivery away so nothing to lose.best regards richard

Thanks for your help Richard. A sample would be very helpful for showing my bodyshop what the desired result is. There's no immediate rush though.

Much appreciated.

Thanks again Richard! Paint sample received and it looks spot on. A proper Lancia Blue and no mistakes.

Just need to get my car back from the bloke who is rebuilding the wheel arch lips and then it's into the paint shop armed with your helpful paint specification.

I owe you a pint sometime. Hunt me down at the next AGM, I should (I hope  Roll Eyes) be in a recently restored Flavia Coupe reg ODF 351F.

Cheers

I'm using a gentleman by the name of Martin Edgar who is located near Dumfries. He runs a classic car hire business called Motor Party and used to have a Lancia Fulvia in his fleet (the silver one that is advertised on Omicron).

He's a very smart fellow and is fully University qualified Mechanical Engineer who used to do consultancy work for the likes of Ford and BMW before tiring of the rat race and starting up his own small business.

He appreciates Lancia engineering and has a Flaminia Touring Coupe awaiting a major restoration

The only problem with Martin is the fact that he takes on other jobs and keeps pushing my Flavia back. It's been 12 months since I took the car to him so I'm dreading the legacy of problems that may arise from the long period of being static.
